High school students can enroll in courses at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ in our Dual Enrollment program under the Postsecondary Enrollment Options Act. Credits earned through dual enrollment may be simultaneously applied toward high school and college.

Tips for submitting your dual enrollment application:
- Select General admission application and then High School Dual Enrollment
- Have your counselor's name/email and your parent or guardian’s name/email
- Research the course you'd like to take. View recommended courses
- Determine which semester you’d like to begin taking classes
- When you submit your application, an approval form will be sent directly to the counselor you provided. This approval is mandatory for Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ to process your enrollment
- After approval, you will receive confirmation from the admissions team and you’ll be guided through the process to register for classes

What are online courses like?
Students (and faculty) use Blackboard Learn for all functions of an online course. Faculty members house all the information students require in this virtual environment which includes assignments, quizzes, tests and threaded discussions which are all completed online.
How many courses can I take?
Online classes are accelerated learning, so we recommend dual enrollment students take only 1 course at a time in order to be most successful.
Is there any tutoring available?
Yes. Students should take advantage of free tutoring available online. Both peer tutoring and professional tutoring are offered to students during posted office hours or by appointment.
How is this course paid for?
These courses are generally paid for by the student or parent. You might have eligibility for state funding for this course through your high school. Contact your high school counselor to explore this option and for additional assistance.
Are payment plans available?
Yes, admission representatives will work with admitted students to figure out the best way to fund their education.
When is my payment for tuition due?
All students need to finalize their payment arrangements (payment plan, cash, or third-party billing) before classes begin each semester.
Can I use financial aid to cover this course?
No, you cannot use financial aid for dual enrollment.
How do we buy books?
Students can purchase books through the online bookstore. Books are available via several cost-effective options including used, rental or e-books. Students can view the list of required/recommended books by accessing the online bookstore link on the Student Connection page.
How long has Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ offered online classes?
Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ has been offering online classes for over twenty years and, in fact, was one of the first universities in Michigan to ever introduce online courses.
- The student must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA (based on 4.0 scale)
- Standardized testing scores show readiness for college-level work
- The student accepts responsibility for designated prerequisites for the desired course.
- Michigan students enrolled in courses at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ via the Postsecondary Enrollment Options Act are permitted to register through the entirety of their participation in the dual enrollment programs providing they have met the State of Michigan requirements for participation. The student is subject to all policies, procedures, fees, and tuition costs of the University
- Students must provide an official copy of their high school transcripts on file at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ. All transcripts must be sent from the originating schools directly to Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ, and become the property of the University.
